Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Open Exam Planner. By signing in you accept them. Read them with the privacy notice.

The service

Open Exam Planner is in beta and free. Features may change, and the service may be unavailable at times. We give notice before we start charging, and nothing is charged without your agreement.

Your content

  • Open Exam Planner is a tool for your own teaching material. Everything you upload, and everything made from it, is private to you unless you ask to share it and an admin agrees.
  • Only upload documents you have the legal right to use, store and process with AI, for example material you wrote, or material your school's licence allows. You are responsible for what you upload.
  • Some exam boards do not allow their papers, mark schemes or specifications to be used with AI tools, including for writing new questions. Checking the terms of the material you upload is your responsibility.
  • Do not use the service to publish or sell material that belongs to someone else.
  • You keep any rights you have in what you upload. You let us store and process it to run the service for you.

Sharing

You can ask to share a specification or an AI-written question with every user. An admin checks each request and may refuse it. Only ask to share material you have the right to share. You can stop sharing at any time.

Infringing content

  • If someone tells us that content infringes their rights, we may look at it and remove it, without notice. See the takedown policy.
  • We ban accounts that upload infringing content repeatedly. A banned account cannot sign in, and its content is deleted 30 days later.

AI output

AI reads your documents and writes new questions. It is checked automatically, but it can still be wrong. Check questions, topics, difficulty and mark schemes before you use them with pupils.

Fair use

  • There are daily limits on uploads, AI versions and exports. They are shown on your account page.
  • Do not try to get round the limits, reach other users' data, or disrupt the service.
  • We may suspend or ban accounts that break these terms.

Liability

The service is provided as it is, without warranty. We are not liable for indirect losses, or for exams built with incorrect content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may end the service with 30 days' notice, and you will be able to download your data first.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: alex@alexhey.co.uk.
